Joist Roof Fill

Fill Plane

Fill Plane after selecting plane as reference point and start joist spacing, clicking on the fill plane button and then selecting a plane to fill. The joist will be laid out either above or below the roof plane pulling spacing from the start joist run point.

Clear

Clears the specific plane of joist members.

Run Line

Allows a user to use a run line (just as in isPlanĀ® joist fill) to specify boundaries to input joist members

Run Line Clear

Allows a user to use a run line to clear a specific area of joist, a few joist, or a single joist.

Pick Ref Point

A user must pick a reference point to define a plane that is going to have joist members drawn. Typically the overhang of the plane is defined as the reference point.

Vertical Alignment

Below Roof Plane

Allows a user to apply roof members below a roof plane. Typically this roof plane has a specified heel height that is above the wall.

Above Roof Plane

Allows a user to apply roof members above a roof plane. Typically this roof plane is sitting on top of the wall and the framing members are applied above it.

Spacing

Allows user to define spacing for members applied to the roof plane.

Perp to Slope

When selected this function will frame roof members perpendicular to slope.

Depending on pitch of roof system certain areas and code bodies may not allow this framing practice.

Ply Count

Play count allows for multiple plies of joist, beams, and other roof framing members.

Filter

Describes the type of framing member being used on a specific plane.

Material

Describes the type of material for that specific plane.

Size

Describes the width and depth or material for that specific plane.

Finished

Finishes the roof joist fill sequence.
